How to travel hassle free with infants?

by - September 10, 2019

If you are a mom or (even a dad) of a little one, then you must be intrigued by the title. I mean traveling, that too, with an infant. How can it be hassle-free? Well, I know that it's a Herculean job, but since I am a mother of two now (whoa I can't believe it myself), I have discovered a few tips and tricks to keep travel hassles to the minimum! For your information, we took our first getaway when she was five months old, and it was not that bad as we had imagined it to be!

I believe that the first step in managing an infant is the management of poop and pee. Ain't it? When I am at home, I prefer not to make her wear diapers (diaper rash, argh!)  so I am constantly cleaning up after my little one. However, while traveling, it's necessary to use them. And you also need a good waterproof sheet which can act as a proper surface for changing the baby. I found the perfect solution to this problem in Teddyy Changing Mats.

These baby changing mats are everything that I was looking for. They are the perfect traveling companion. Now you must be wondering why? Well, because of these reasons:

  • Firstly, they are disposable. That means you don't have to worry about washing the poop, sanitizing the mat or even the longevity of the mat. After changing the baby, you can simply throw the dirty mat in the trash.
  • These are very light-weight and hence, easy to carry. You can fold them and keep them either in the diaper bag or in your purse, and not worry about them weighing you down.

  • These convenient changing mats are highly absorbent. They also have gel lock technology that converts the liquid into gel and soaks up the spill quickly. They have a waterproof back sheet, and a special criss-cross design, which makes the mat spill-proof.

  • These have an anti-bacterial sheet. The antibacterial core and hypoallergenic formulae keep your baby allergy-free. The sheet is soft and smooth, so your baby's bums are safe too.
  • Priced at 299 for a pack of 10, they are quite economical, so it's not like they will break your bank. I used these mats for additional protection in strollers, car seats, and bed/cribs. I lined my bed with it when I wanted to let my baby be diaper-free.

Now, that my secret is out of the bag, let me share some other tricks, which have helped me travel with my little one easily.

  • Take a stroller that is easy to use. Strollers are useless if they are too bulky, and you don't know how to handle them. You should be able to fold/unfold your stroller in a jiffy. Don't forget to line the stroller with the Teddyy baby changing mat.
  • Keep your diaper bag well stocked. You should have at least 5-6 diapers in the bag at a time so that you don’t run out of them before the next stop. Always keep a pack of wipes and diaper cream/coconut oil in the bag. Two extra pairs of baby clothes and a couple of Teddyy Changing Mats, too.
  • Keep infant food ready. If you are traveling with a newborn then just milk will suffice. If you feed formula then keep a bottle of hot water (for cleaning the bottles) and a bottle of boiled water for preparing the formula. If your baby is older, then don’t forget to carry baby cereal, bananas, and of course, a baby bowl and spoon with you.

  • Last but not least, some noise-making, baby-safe toys to keep your precious entertained. I also keep a bag of emergency medicines at hand.

Following these nifty tricks helped me survive my first getaway with my baby last week. And I have to say, using the baby waterproof mat had been a game-changer. These are really #SuperMatsForSupermoms. If you have more tips, please feel free to share them with me.
