This is a prequel to the previous post. This is weird..I mean why do I tend to write later posts earlier?? he he  :D I dont know myself. Its just that I go with the flow whatever my heart feels. Anyways this post is the morning part of my birthday. You all must be wondering why do I have such elaborate birthdays!! I dont know..I just love celebrating...whatever be the occassion!!

Right from childhood, green has been my favourite colour. Choices tend to change as we grow up, but in my case; I am more in love with green than ever!! I have always loved nature especially greenery; dont know whether its the 'green' colour effect or vice versa. I always love spending time in parks and natural surroundings, rather than a mall, no matter however hot the weather is!! And a historical place amidst the greens is the perfect icing on the cake!! So this year I decided to romp around in the infamous Lodhi Gardens!!

The Lodi garden was created in around 16th century. Its beautifully maintained with lush greens and tombs and mosques. However some people see it in bad light as couples are found to be making out there in the open. Even my husband was not too excited on going there; he suggested to choose a different venue; and when I refused to budge, he insisted I should not reveal the name of the place where we have been. silly is not it!! Well he even made sure I carried my doctor ID and our marriage certificate too in case any cop tries to harrass us!! OMG!! But you know anything is possible in our country!!

Enough with the talking, here are the beautiful snaps of our excursion cum birthday celebration!!

with the swans beside the lake...

a tiny island..

i always find bougainvillaeas pretty..espcially when they are pink!!

love my hubby for taking this one!!

this was taken when I was completely off guard; but it turned out cute!!

lovely laburnums!! reminent spring blooms!!

kinda ramp in the greens!!

I climbed high enough to get this picture!

now its obvious from where I am hanging from!!

hubby decided to stretch the 'tiny' me to be taller than the monument!!

captured while talking on the phone..answering the numerous good wishes of my friends!!

can you spot me in this pic?? :D

the turret..dont know what it means!!
All sweaty with aching feet (the heels remember :p) it was a perfect outing in the greens!!

TRAVEL TIP:
 1. Winters are the best time to visit.
2. Carry umbrella and plenty of water.wear flats if you want to explore!!
3. There is neither any entrance fee nor any parking ticket!!

I wore:
DRESS: globus
BELT:globus
BRACELET:forever21, globus
PUMPS:vansons
SUNNIES: ALDO

This birthday I decided to keep my own plans on hold and wait for my hubby to shell out something on his own. After all why should I always keep planning !! :D I remained mum throughout the week; my husband knew in his mind that everything is set. One day before , when I was still mum, he understood that he has to take the matter in his own hands and therefore he started begging that I should think something :D I grinned ear to ear and then elaborated what I had in mind.

For dinner we went to the Park hotel. We both love this place and the ambience is amazing. After dinner , we decided to stroll around. The best thing about Delhi is that it is a perfect blend of technology and history!! I am simply mesmerised by the Mughal architecture!! So for a change , we decided to pay a visit to Tomb of Sikander lodi, the second ruler of Lodi Dynasty. Is not it unusual to visit a mausoleum on one's birthday?? Well, not for freaks like us!! It was pitch dark when we reached there and it was a totally different experience romping around the dimly lit ruins!!

In Hotel The Park, love the orange chandeliers...

an abstract art depicting the city...

love the dimly lit ambience...

love the dimly lit ambience...

I always love pink :D
After an early dinner, we set out for the tomb which was located on Lodi Road between the Khan market and Safdurjung tomb. The whole place was dimly lit which gave an eerie feeling of history :D

wall of the tomb of sikander lodi..

as if it was already not scary enough; I climbed a flight of dark stairs to reach this tower :D

looks like a scary prison!!

while descending from that scary tower....

my hubby suggested that I should take a pic of my back :D

suddenly hubby came in mood of exercise!!

push ups with a full stomach...
As it was almost half past eight, it was time for the place to close. The guards started blewing whistles to evacuate the place and we decided to explore this place sometime later; during daytime sans the eerie feeling!!
Though we didnot want to go back home. After all its my birthday!! So we headed towards our all time favourite eating cum shopping joint Dilli Haat.
the ambience is always festive here!!

Shops galore, I just love spending here!!

our first joint pic for the night...

colourful Rajasthani handicrafts...

the wheel :D If you have read my posts earlier, U gotta know why I am fascinated with it so much :D

cute fluorescent shrubs!!
It was time for Dilli Haat to shut down too!! So we had to head towards home..finally..no option :D And it was the perfect conclusion of my birthday!! This was my third after marriage and fourth after meeting my Mr right. Time indeed flies soo fast!!!

TRAVEL TIP: I have started adding this as a suggestion from my well wishers.

1.Visit here in broad day light
2.Delhi is uncomfortable during summers for those who are not used to
3.Carry plenty of water and umbrella or hat.

Hello my lovely readers!! By now you all must have come to know how crazy I am about birthdays!! And with my birthday just two days to go, I cannot contain my excitement!! In this post I am going to share my first birthday after marriage..two years ago!! It was really special as it my first as a wife!! Hope you enjoy reading :)

I am a complete water baby :) That explains my repeatedly water related posts..be it the beach or river or pool. In a land locked area like Delhi , one cannot get to the coast at a moment's notice. For that we have water parks that emulate splash experience very nicely!! So we decided to pay a visit to Fun and Food village...Delhi's oldest amusement and water park to fulfill my beachy fantasies!!

At that time we were staying in mayur vihar that is East Delhi. And the water park is in Kapasheda...absolute south west. It meant zipping across the entire breadth of the city. After directions from google earth, we set off after breakfast ; the earlier we reach, more the time we get for enjoyment (early being 11am). But as anticipated, we reached Dhaula Kuan on time only to get lost after that :D We had driven 40 kms smoothly but alas !! After asking directions from a dozen passerby (more than half of them misguided us), we finally reached!! But not before driving another useless 20 kms!! :D

Well I agree that had not been the ride so eventful; I would not have remembered it so vividly even after two years!!

as we entered the premises, we found some queer characters :)

hubby with an one eyed monster :D

the alley that led to the water rides...

and here I am in the wave pool!!! yayy!!

hubby relaxing on the lounger...

finally a pic of us in the wave pool!!

rain rain dont go away!!

trying to emulate John Abraham :D

can you spot me on the slide??

there I am...sliding to my heart's content!!

rainbow showers...

back to childhood!!!

back to childhood!!!

are not those buckets really cute??

unintentionally offensive :D pun intended :D

rain dance...

embracing a leopard...only its statue!!

since we reached quite late(remember those useless wandering in the city??) the water rides took most of our time. We could try only one ride in the dry section before it struck 6. Alas money waste but worse we could not enjoy fully.

rides closed ..so what?? I could take pictures with the surroundings :D

does not he look like a tiny dragon himself?? :D

yummy fruit garden...

Finally it was goodbye to Fun n Food Village. Though did not feel like leaving, the grumbling stomach sounds compelled us to head to some eatery. We were far from almost every favourite joint of ours. After much argument and discussion, we headed towards Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj. A new mediterranean restaurant had opened and it being one of my favourite cuisine; we wasted no time!!
loved the ambience...

shirley's temple...

as far as I remember, it was delicious but not worth its price (courtsey my hubby :D)

loved their kitchen though!!

loved their kitchen though!!

there we are together...my first birthday as a wife :D

the delighted birthday girl after an amazing day..... :D
