Do you remember the iconic little Miss Carrie Bradshaw?? Well I am sure 90% of my lovely readers adore her!! I swear by her motto ' Shopping is my cardio' !! I am a shopaholic and mall trotting is my form of excercise!!.

My cardio recently took a break when I shopped from  Jabong.com.

It may be a big surprise to many that I had never shopped online before. This is because I love strutting with piles of shopping bags in both my hands!! But a couple of days back I realised that receiving products at your home is just a click away!! With my small baby, I cannot hop to malls the way I used to. So online shopping is a big boon for people like me!!

I was quite apprehensive when shopping from Jabong.com since it was my very first stint with online shopping. However, it was such a pleasant experience!

jabong.com is a very comprehensive shopping portal where you get almost everything!! From clothing, accessories to beauty products, home furnishings and sports products, you are bound to get tempted!!

I was attracted to the raining sales and wanted to score a good bargain.

I am a brand conscious person so I picked up a lovely floral skirt from ONLY. Its MRP was INR999 but I got it at 50% off ie. INR498. Isn't it a steal!!

Since my experience with Jabong.com was so great, I plan to score some really good deals!!

Some salient features of Jabong.com are:

  • Cash on delivery available
  •  Deliver products on the same day in Delhi NCR. I ordered mine at midnight and received it in the afternoon the very next day!!
  • Thousands of products available for both men and women...clothing, accessories, cosmetics, home furnishings etc with thousands of options to choose from.
  • Branded items and designer pieces available which makes it perfect for shoppers like me who lust after labels!! Some of them are: Rohit Bal, Steve madden, Dorothy perkins, mango, River Island, Vero Moda, Only, etc etc.
  • The site is very easy to navigate
  • You very easily track your package with the given docket number.
  • Last but not the least, you can get your favourite items at your doorstep, just a click away!! No matter whether you are expecting, sick or babysitting!!

I received my package within 15 hours of ordering!!

very nicely packed.

isn't this skirt pretty??
So here are my outfit photos. For the first time I wore something without going for any excursion!! Well shooting outfit photos was fun. I did not have to do any research on where to go. I just got dressed, went downstairs and click click click!!

Pardon my plumpness; I still haven't lost my baby weight!!

P.s It is raining sales at Jabong.com. Grab those awesome deals!!

Do you like online shopping?? Have you tried Jabong.com??

Continuing with my hotel odyssey, today I take you to Singapore. Our trip to Singapore and Malaysia was a long one considering the fact that it consisted about 11days. I know for some of you its very less. I have come across European tourists who spend 6 months in Phuket!! But for us Indians, a week long vacation is more than enough to recharge our batteries. When it exceeds than a week, our batteries start draining because of the extra expenses and upcoming work pressure :D

We visited Malaysia in the first part of our trip. Then we travelled to Singapore by bus. It was a really long journey and my mom (the eternal motion sick yet travel addict) really had a tough time. Moreover our groupies were highly uncooperative people who kept on delaying everything making us lose our precious travel time :(

Our Singapore trip was pretty packed. After we reached our hotel after what about 12 hour bus ride, we did not have much time before we had to leave for the night safari. We wanted to lie down but alas!! Although when we checked into our hotel, half of my soreness vanished!!

It was a small yet lovely hotel. There were animal prints in the furnishings everywhere. But my most favourite part was obviously the rooftop swimming pool. One could see the skyscrapers all around while taking a dip!!

love the animal print and royal blue combination...
animal prints were part and parcel of this place it seems!!

In our last trip when we visited the fort palace in Alwar, we stayed at the Jalaj mahal. Jalaj comes from the word jal plus aj which means born in water. Well there are a lot of things which are born in water but Jalaj specifically means lotus.

There is no specific reason why our tiny suite had been named Jalaj; but in order to live upto its name, the curtains had lotus print and there were various paintings of lotus all around.

As we entered the fort palace, we were mesemerised by the greenery all around. In the peak of summers that too in the parched land of Rajasthan, how can so much greenery be maintained?
I kill my money plants in my bedroom during the summers. No matter how mush effort is put into their well being, they end up withered and me heartbroken. Anyways, as we climbed uphill, (the fort is on the Aravallis) we could see the Alwar village on one side, the Aravallis and the fort on the other side. I will get to the details of the fort later as this post is for our cute little suite.

The suite had a tiny lobby at the entrance. There were two tiny bedrooms, the second one even tinier!! There were two cute little beds. The bathroom was cool with one off the walls being formed by the Aravalli hill. There was a tiny balcony too which overlooked the medieval water body. There was no mini bar or television but it was an enchanting experience. The best part of the room was a vintage dresser which I badly want for myself!!

As I said in my last post, our daughter turned four months last Friday. Well that's not it. That day was our engagement anniversary too. Yes, on 11 July 2010, I got engaged. For the past three years, this day was not that special to us. Hubby is bad with dates; as most men are. So he never remembered to wish me. I, the cleverer one used to wish him five minutes before the day ended to establish my supremacy and of course make him feel guilty for not remembering...he he :D. I used to think that on this day I was tricked into matrimony and trapped for life (winking) . However, this year was different.

I think there is a thing with the number eleven. My life with him started on 11july, we got married in the year 2011 and then the most precious thing came to our lives on 11march!! It may be a coincidence but this year I decided that we should start celebrating this day too!! Not only our daughter turned four months, but also its been four years that we got engaged!! But like every year, he completely forgot. As a ritual I wished him five minutes before midnight and gave him a good lecture about how casual he is with pampering his wife. Guilty, he promised to take me out for celebration on Sunday. Elated, I called up Mom to book her for baby sitting. If you read my blog, you would be knowing that I had a bitter fight with her. Well I had called truce for my own selfish reasons.

On Saturday we went for shopping with our daughter. As a result, hubby had to cancel all his patient appointments in the evening. Consequently, his black book got filled for Sunday morning. When we returned home late on Saturday night, we were dead tired. Hubby went to sleep early while I had to take care of the household chores and baby woes. I was tired too..even if I have not been going to clinic these days. Taking care of the baby itself is a big job.

As Sunday started, hubby left for hospital for the pending appointments. My Mom came and I tried to wrap up the household work asap. Yes, we were going out. By the time hubby came back in the afternoon, he was dead tired. His eyes were pleading that please let me sleep and not go out. Come on, I was tired too but I refused to budge. By the time he got the strength to move, It started raining. Delhi had been rain starved since two months. And Sunday's downpour made us feel that its the compensation for the past two months. It rained so violently that there was water logging everywhere. I sat in dismay on the windowsill. Maybe God didnot want us to celebrate our engagement anniversary.

I whipped up a quick lunch and was upset to the core. However, by the time we finished eating, the volume of water pouring had declined. This amount of rain could be braved. So again I got dressed; but this time with less effort as I hate getting redressed. I dragged hubby off the couch, said goodbye to mom and my baby and left for the date. yes, the evening was worth every pain I took!!

Hard to believe that its four years already!!

the cutest Italian restaurant to have a meal!!

My daughter turned 4 months today. Well time really flies!! Having an infant or even being heavily pregnant could not curb my penchant for wandering!! But carrying around a new born is a torture both for the baby as well as the parents. So until yesterday, I used handover my daughter to my mom and used to roam around freely. But last week I had a bitter fight with my Mom ( that keeps on happening but this time a bit more serious). So the ego in me refused to seek Mommy's help :p So I decided to take her out for her first excursion.

Its very unusual for me to go out on weekdays. My husband's crazy schedule allows us to go out only on Sundays. For the weekdays, I have my loyal friends!! However last Sunday, hubby left for hospital early in the morning and came back after 9 at night. I was furious. Okay I get that I am not svelte and pretty as I used to be ha ha but still I deserve this surgeon's time and attention!! :D

So yesterday, surprisingly he came home in the afternoon!! He not only bunked hospital, but also got a pretty dress for me. That's an entire different story that the dress did not fit me. My husband needs to stop being in denial and accept the fact that I am much larger now :D He then announced that we are going out and for a change with our daughter :D He did not have the courage to ask my mom to babysit..he he :D

So we set out for Sanjay Lake, a lake in Delhi which I have not been before. This lake has been named after late Sanjay Gandhi. This place is in East Delhi in a not so good locality. But that hardly mattered and therefore I covered up my legs.

In order to escape the blazing sun, we reached there after half past six, and after a while, the sun was almost about to set. Its been ages that I had witnessed sunset in this city and it was a luxury to watch the sun go down on the lake. We walked aroud the entire periphery of the lake; our baby in the pram. Even she was surprised to find herself in such a green area!! My feet hurt me badly courtsey my new neon wedges. Anyways, anything for travelling!!

Travelling with a baby comes with myriads of difficulties....I know every Mom will agree with me. And about 90% of the difficulties have to be faced by the mother herself. Well 90% of the unconditional love of the baby goes to the mom too :D I enjoyed every bit of roaming around with my baby and hope this is just the starting of the thousands of miles we dream to conquer!!

yellow laburnums and lush greens...daughter totally unaware of getting clicked :D

we had to cross the lake by this bridge...

this hanging bridge was swaying to and fro...

After our four days stay at Manila, it was time to fly to Cebu. Philippines is an archipelago consisting of about 7200 islands and Cebu i one of them. Just adjacent to Cebu, is a tiny offshoot called Mactan. Mactan island lies across the Mactan channel and is accessible from the mainland of Cebu via bridge and water tranport. The Cebu International airport is situated in Mactan, hence we decided to book a hotel in Mactan itself.

As I said in my last post we were looking for not so luxurious options as we wanted to spend that money more on travelling and shopping. While browsing through sites we came across Hotel Bellavista. Its a three star hotel quite near to the airport. As I have professed that the availability of a swimming pool is a major criteria for me to book hotels; this one won me hands down. Reasonable rate with a rooftop pool, pick and drop from airport and breakfast...I did not want anything more. Anyways we were going to use the room just for sleeping at night, the whole day was to be spent outdoors for touring, so it did not really matter how swanky the room was. But when we reached there, it turned out to be more than our expectations!!

The rooftop pool overlooked the entire Mactan channel joing the Phillipine sea. WE could see the vessels sailing and hoardes of traffic entering and exiting Mactan through the bridge. The famous Mercalo Fernan bridge could be seen right from the pool. And above all the rooftop restaurant was ah-mazing!!

My second love of life i.e food, was lovely. The breakfast consisted of a lavish spread of all my favourite items. Sadly, we had to miss the first two breakfasts as our tours were scheduled at 5 30 in the morning!! On the last morning, I enjoyed eating to my heart's content. I had caught fever from the overexposure to sea bathing, swimming and the blazing sun and rain, but nothing could stop me from enjoying every bit of our stay :)

The icing on the cake were the sweet staff!! They made our stay truly memorable!!

our comfortable but not so fancy room...

the walls were adorned with cloth pieces from all over Phillipines...

The famous Mercalo Fernan Bridge at the back connecting Mactan to the Cebu mainland.

The Mactan channel all around and finally losing its individuality in the Philippine sea...

I can relax like this the whole day!!
