Blogs came to vogue way back in 2005 – 2006. That time I had just passed out of school and was aloof from the real world. I was engrossed in my own world of dreams. My mom’s world on the other hand revolved around current affairs and books. Since I had passed out of school, her job of teaching and guiding me had also ended. In a nutshell, her leisure time increased by leaps and bounds. Hence she got more time to dwell upon books and magazines and started reading about blogging. Being the pushy Bengali mother she always had been; she was after me to start a blog. She had always pushed me into documenting our travels in a diary; now she wanted me to write them in a blog.
I being the stubborn one as always did not pay heed to her words. Partly because I was too much occupied with my medical school curriculum. And partly because I trying to establish a foothold in my new college. Medical school years are the toughest in any medico’s life. Five years just rolled on with me trying to balance academics and extra curricular activities.
Then I got married (which was really early) during my internship.I passed on my penchant for travelling to my partner too. With my parents it always had been impromptu trips. While with my husband it became well planned and elaborate.
Fashion had always been an integral part of my life. Ask my mom and she would say that I chose my own clothes when I was two! Same goes for my daughter too! In 2012 I started following fashion blogs. I had passed out of college and had time to breathe. I got inspired by various bloggers like Superficial Girls, Glam and Glitter. I never repeated an outfit. Whenever I wore anything twice, it was with some twist or edge. I found that these bloggers too do the same and blogging was an excellent way to document all this.
In 2013 we planned a trip to Philippines all by ourselves. We did not book a package through any agency like we did in the previous ones. We read a lot of blogs in doing so. After we came back, we were elated on the success of our own plannings. Our entire trip was a super smooth one without any rough patch. I thought that if blogs could help us so much then I should also put my travel knowledge out in the world to know and learn. Also I loved travelling in style. I spend a lot of time in putting together my looks for a vacation. Hence I my travel cum fashion blog was born. Its been three and a half years that I have been blogging and I have loved every moment of it!
Coming to my outfit, this look is from Zaful.com. I love dresses and its not a secret!. I own them in every possible colour and print. They are feminine and comfortable.
I am a sleeveless kinda person. But for a change I chose this blue ombre full sleeve dress for a change. How cute is the printed one? I am loving it!
