a taste of farm life...
I had always wanted to live on a farm. No, don't get me wrong. I am an out and out city girl who loves to have every facility at her service. But since childhood, I have been fond of farms. I used to love painting villages with the huts and ponds and used to imagine life out there. What started out as an innocent and naive fantasy, turned into a desire of owning a farm house. The thatched roofs, greenery all around, cocks crowing and the grassy mildew....everything seems so romantic! Living away from the hustle bustle of city life sounds like such a cool idea!
I got to live my imagination for a while this time when I was in Dehradun. You all know by know I had my exams there. The guest house we were staying had a farm adjacent to it. Dehradun being the capital city of Uttarakhand is the biggest city of this state. So it was a perfect combination. A farm like area in midst of a happening city!
I used to eye this place from the balcony whenever I got time. I wanted to take photographs, but somehow I managed to do so only on the penultimate day of our trip!! I was supposed to be digging into my books but instead I was fooling around in the grass. God please be kind while marking me :D
Anyways the grass may seem very green and beautiful but in reality they were very itchy! It was quite a task to hop around as we ( me and my photographer) were scared of snakes. We had spotted a large black cobra on the previous day itself and it was flashing on our minds.
Although I had a great time pumping water from the ground, sitting on the grass, etc etc, I don't want to live on a farm anymore . Now that I have tasted a bite of farm like life, my fantasies are over. The grass is itchy, there is cow dung everywhere, stinky and fear of snakes. I don't want to explore more. Let the grass remain greener on the other side!!
Pictures taken with Samsung S5 with 10x optical zoom (not launched in India yet). This phone has a mind blowing camera and I am in love with it. It was already dusk when we shot these..look at the quality of these pics!!I am pestering hubby to get me one after it gets launched in India!!

I'm a city girl and I don't want to live on a farm. Holy moly! Snakes I would be sooo scared. That was very brave. Have a happy Monday pretty!!!

Really nice set for the pictures :p
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't like living in a farm house permanently but escaping there for a couple of weeks would be nice.
