by - 9/19/2017

In this cricket crazy nation, other sports seldom get the spotlight. But thanks to progressive thinking, the scenario has been changing. The first sport to gain attention after cricket became tennis, then badminton and now basketball! There are so many sportsmen, sports enthusiasts all over India that a handful of matches simply don't do justice to them. In order to pursue sports as a career, there needs to be lots of options. The IPL paved way to hundreds of domestic cricketers. And now, YKBK Enterprise Private Limited plans to do the same for Basketball!

The International Federation of Basketball has permitted the exclusive rights to YKBK Enterprise to bring 3x3 Pro Basketball League to the Indian Subcontinent. It wants to grassroot structure for 3x3 across India. Just like IPL, the aim is to make it a franchise based sport. Staring with 12 teams, the number may go upto 36 teams in 7 years. The ultimate platform for professional basketball palyers! #3x3RoadToMexico
On 16 and 17 September, Gurugram got to witness these matches. The venue was Ambience Mall Gurugram, and the location could not have been more perfect! The matches were full of enthusiasm and professionalism! The winners of the League get an all expense paid trip to Mexico along with lucrative cash prizes and international recognition!
What was known as 3 on 3 in basketball, the FIBA introduced as 3x3 to the world in 2007. This format's sports popularity and success has made FIBA to make it a stand alone game with its own matches every year. On June 2017, 3x3 was finally added as an Olympic event to be played at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As of today, the sports is officially played in 144 countries. You can get more insight on 3x3BL.com
With India too joining this awesome format, we look forward to more matches. It plans to target younger audience through social media promotion, television and print! Cheers to a wonderful weekend!

  1. A nice way to promote this sport and I genuinely feel that more such articles are needed to prevent people from losing interest in them. The content is excellent and the pictures and wonderful.
