Unexplored corners of Connaught Place

by - May 08, 2014

Discovering new things have always fascinated me right from childhood. Be it new but unknown items in the stationery shop, a shorter route to school or an unattented garden with beautiful flowers, I have wasted a lot of my playtime in doing such things. My mom in turn used to get worried as she was unaware about my whereabouts. However, my explorative nature started paying me when I grew up. I began taking pictures of unknown parts of known places which used to baffle my friends :D Nothing great but harmless fun. Such incident got me laurels of my friends few months back when we celebrated a friend's birthday in Connaught place.

Connaught Place is the heart of New Delhi. My Yoga institute was in Ashoka Road, just adjacent to Connaught place. So whenever we had to hangout after classes, we used to head to CP, as this place is fondly called. CP had become almost our second home owing to the number of hours we had spent there.

Eventually, we got tired of the same old spots. However, the other hot spots of the city were a bit farther, so we had to remained confined to CP. So again when there was a birthday, eating in one of the known restaurants evoked distinterst in all of us. That's when I stepped forward and said that I am going to be the guide for the rest of the day. The rest of the story produces laughter and excitement even today whenever we talk about it!!

The newest part of new Delhi even has some rugged corners and spooky mansions which no one knew about!! We were fortunate enough to take pictures there before they got demolished!!
