Hair extensions are born for those who require adding hair volume, extending hair length, and putting in natural highlights. Many fashionable hairstyles can be realized with hair extensions as easily as on your bio hair. Clip-in extensions are the most convenient ones that need the least effort. They can blend well with your hair and fit with beautiful hairstyles.

Clip-in hair extension

It’s a temporary hair method that needs to be taken off at the end of the day. Compared to semi-permanent or permanent extensions like tape-ins and nail tips, clip-in hair extensions can be installed at home by yourself. All you need to do is open the clip, take a piece of hair, and clip it on. This can only take a few minutes. The ease of attaching clip-ins makes it very popular among long-hair beauties.

Clip-in hair extensions are perfect for important occasions when you want to refresh your tresses just for one day and protect your hair from heat and pigment damage. Due to this, tons of celebrities are using clip-in extensions, like Selena Gomez, who wears long extensions to achieve full locks, and Zendaya, who has been using all kinds of clip-ins to switch new looks boldly. Clip-ins are indeed great, but remember to take them off before you sleep, swim, or shower; otherwise, your bio hair will sustain too much pressure, leading to hair root damage.

This type of hair extension can last several months with proper care. Human hair extensions can even make it to a whole year. You can find 2 kinds of top-notch human Remy hair at Superhairpieces, which are Indian hair and Chinese hair. The former is much easier to style to heat, while the latter is thicker and more durable. You can choose the type of clip-in hair extensions you need according to the hairstyles recommended below.

How to apply clip-ins in the right way

Take a standard 100-gram pack, for example. It contains 4 pieces with 3 clips and 4 pieces with 1 clip. The wider ones need to be placed at the back, and the singular clips should be put on the sides of your head.

1.     Gently brush the extension and ensure that there’s no tangle.

2.     Section off the hair one inch above your neck and tie the upper hair into a bun. Make the parting line as even as possible so that no hair will get in the way when clipping.

3.     Start with a weft with three clips. Open the clips and slide the little combs into the hair. Snag the clips shut from the middle one to the sides.

4.     Let down another section of hair, roughly for one inch. Repeat step 3. Every time before you insert clips, you can brush the loose hair to ensure it’s smooth with no tangles.

5.     For the last two 3-clip extensions, repeat step 4 twice, with the hair sectioned off one inch higher each time. It would be better if the last parting line is somewhere higher than your ears and lower than your eyebrows. This can guarantee that you have enough hair to cover the clips.

6.     Create an even parting line 2 inches above your right ear. Brush the upper hair to the opposite side and secure it with a clip.

7.     Clip the singular piece on and ensure it’s at least one inch away from the hairline to reach a natural effect.

8.     Do the same thing to the left ear and add the remaining 2 pieces to wherever you think it lacks volume or length. If you have no idea, you can just put them right to the pieces on the sides.

A basic attachment of clip-in hair extensions is done within these eight steps. As for versatile hairstyles, let’s move on to the next part.

Feasible hairstyles

Double bubble ponytail

1. Take some hair on top to make up the front section and tie it with a clear elastic. Make sure it’s somewhere that won’t reveal your clip-in extensions. You can feel your back with your hands or check it out in a mirror.

2.   Make an opening in the middle of this section and bring the ponytail up to pass through it.

3.  Tighten the ponytail and repeat the last step, but this time, let the ponytail go halfway through so that there’s enough hair to make the bubble.

4.    Slightly pull the hair on the loop to make it loose and plump, and the first bubble is born.

5. Gather hair from two sides under your ears and tie it up. Repeat the process above to create the next bubble.

6. Grab two more sections from the sides, secure them, and a double bubble ponytail is done.

Low bun

1.     Gather your hair above your nape, pull out frame-framing pieces, and tightly secure it into a low ponytail.

2.     Pinch and pull small pieces of hair throughout your crown. This will add a beautiful dimension and volume for a more formal look.

3.     Pinch the top of your ponytail with your left hand as an anchor. Use your right hand to twist your ponytail clockwise two times softly.

4.     Wrap your ponytail counterclockwise around your index finger on your left hand. Tightly twist the ends and continue wrapping them under your bun. Remove your index finger, and you can see a pretty bun shape.

5.     Hold it firmly against your head and secure it with a French pin.

Girls can be cute with a double bubble ponytail or a quick, neat low bun. With clip-in hair extensions, you can definitely do more than that. Get best human hair extensions at Superhairpieces and feel the amazing beauty!

Hairpieces for women are a fabulous fashion accessory and hair loss remedy. They sit on top of the head and add extra volume and length to existing hair, and can also cover severe thinning and balding. When someone finally decides to take the plunge and get a hair topper, they will never want to take it off. And why should they! Looking fabulous comes easy with hair toppers for women.

But sometimes, life takes you away from home, and knowing what’s needed when travelling with a topper can be tricky at first. You may not want to take your full maintenance toolkit with you, but you definitely need to pack a few things. So what are the essentials? Read ahead to find out!

Small-sized glue or tape

Wig glue or tape are frequently used adhesives among hair topper wearers. They keep the topper securely on the head and keep the front hairline laid down flat on the scalp, making it look natural. For convenience and cost-saving, many people prefer to buy their adhesive in bulk when they know it is something they will be continually using over long periods of time. It just makes sense and works out to be cheaper to buy the largest bottle of glue once a year over purchasing a small bottle every month. However, large bottles of glue or rolls of tape can pose issues when traveling. Glue especially may pose problems on flights, and both will take up extra space in your luggage that you may want to use for something else, particularly if you want to travel light. For these reasons, it is always a good idea to have a travel-sized version of your adhesive of choice ready for any trips you might take. Get a small bottle of glue or just a few tape strips to take with you on your journey.

Travel comb

Keeping your women’s hair pieces looking good and well-groomed isn’t something that will just stop because you are away from home. It doesn’t matter whether you are on vacation or at a 2-day business conference; a tangled and messy hair topper won’t feel or look good. But bringing a full set of brushes and combs with you like you might have at home is simply not realistic. You can’t bring the whole bathroom with you, even if you might want to. The best option is to find one small brush or comb that works for basic styling and detangling and make that part of your travel kit. A wide-toothed comb is an excellent choice as they are gentle on hair toppers for women but still effective and also takes up only a small amount of space. A wig brush or loop brush is also good to style and brush women’s hair toppers, but they tend to be a bit thicker and take up more space than combs, so be on the lookout for small or travel-sized versions of these products.

Backup piece

This is the most commonly forgotten travel essential for hair toppers for women wearers, but it really is a must! In particular, if you use a hair topper every day or do not want others to know that you use a hairpiece, it is imperative to always have a backup topper available for use. This is because you never know when disaster might strike, especially when travelling. Unforeseen circumstances like ripped bases, shedding hair, lost luggage, and more can mean that suddenly your main hairpiece is no longer usable, and being away from home, you may not be able to just get a new one. For this reason, having a second piece with you both at home and when traveling can help to alleviate anxiety and solve emergency problems. Just make sure to store it properly, preferably in something with a bit of structure, like a box to protect from travel and regular wear-and-tear that can happen to women’s hairpieces when they aren’t on your head.

Traveling can be a wonderful and exciting experience, but it can also be a stressful nightmare, especially when it comes to packing. Paring down what you need to travel with can help make packing a less stressful and time-consuming process and make the traveling itself easier with less to haul with you. When traveling with a hairpiece, make sure to only take the essentials, but don’t forgo bringing the necessities of hair topper care! Put together a small travel bag with our suggestions, and you will be ready for any adventures your travels bring.

Title: Oh, So Emo! Dealing with those big feelings

Author: Gayatri

Genre: Non fiction, Self help

Pages: 185

Publisher: Hachette Children's books

When a book has a forward by His Holiness The Dalai Lama, it definitely deserves to be picked up and read immediately. I have always been a strong advocate of mental health and when I saw this book that dealt with emotions, I immediately knew that I needed to read it urgently. I am a mom to to two young children (a toddler and a nine year old). Believe me my pre teen gives me anxiety, stress, frustration (name all those related conditions) way more than any patient needing psychiatric help has given me. But then, as an educated individual (both from medical perspective and millennial point of view), I want and need to support her; and not just suppress or neglect her emotions with yelling (from my side) and door slamming (from hers').. Also it is so important to have a hold on the understanding of various types of emotions. It is not restricted to any gender or age. One should and must pay attention to the feelings we experience over the various stages of life.

Apart from being an integral part of personal interest, I had read a lot of psychological and psychiatric texts in the medical college. While it's very much on the superficial level because during under graduation we don't need that much depth. It was out of my knack only that I devoured so much literature on mental health conditions. However I can safely say that I had never read any book that explains various emotions in such a simplified manner; the way Gayatri does in her book.

The most fascinating part of this book is the main hero: Sku : a wise "sunbird" who has gotten all his wisdom from Dorji, a 10 year old reincarnated monk, who has flown all the way from Tibet. He "speaks" way too much and clearly for a bird, and of course is an expert in understanding emotions. His comrades are various other birds, namely Karuna, Metta, Mudita and Uppekha. This group helps the little children, namely Amit, Susie, Frenny, Moin and Neela navigate their life in a better way by making them understand their emotions.

What I have found truly useful (from a clinical bent of mind) is the Sku guide that is given at the end of each kid's case. for example, the discussed emotion is "fear" ir feeling "scared". There are other related emotions listed and how to identify and distinguish them. Interrelated to fear are panic, anxiety, nervousness, insecurity and stress.

Each emotion is clearly bifurcated into 4 parts: How it feels, words to use, Sku's dos and affirmation.

Our wise Sku's dos are literally like intervational exercises from the shrink (very helpful). I personally love the Affirmation part too, which is such a great reminder to build a stronger you.

While this book would be super helpful to young readers, it's not age specific. because my dearies, we all struggle with various emotions need a way to cope with them. I learnt so many thing from Sku which I love and plan to implement on myself, my kids and of course my patients.

PS I have gifted this book to my elder daughter who will turn ten in 3 months. Because I truly believe that it would help her to cope with various emotions.

A must read book if you want to have a better understanding of your feelings and how to handle them.

The world isn't the same anymore; and neither are we. As the timeline has become sharply demarcated between BC (Before Covid) and after, we as individuals have evolved in more ways than one. The pandemic has really metamorphosed our lifestyles ( and they are still persisting). While frantic cleaning habits are a great outcome of the pandemic; the dependence on screens is not much of a boon. While again the world can be divided into pre and post social media, the pandemic has played a horrific role in making us glued to the screens. And one of the biggest downsides of that easy form of entertainment (read dopamine rush) is dwindling in the reading of books. Scrolling through reels continuously is way easier than going through the pages of a book. Even I am guilty as well. With workload and household chores increasing day by day, it's easier for me to spend hours on IG, rather than reading a book. Also, my job revolves around Instagram and hence it's a part of my "job" to scroll; not mindlessly but continuously nonetheless for the sake of inspiration and research.

If this can happen to a veteran bibliophile like me 😛, I wonder what has happened to the budding ones. The only ones that I have diligently read in the past couple of years are the ones I had been sent for review purposes, Well last year I made a promise to myself to read and review as many books possible. And this year, I plan to read at least one book every month. Earlier what used to be my sole source of

dopamine, has become something that I need to focus on. Anyways, late better than never! Also did I mention that I am a paperback girl forever? Well as, in this Kindle era, I love the smell of pages, be it old or new.

Anyways I have been a really early reader (my mom had told me) and these are are the types of books I have always loved reading.

1. Short Stories: I started my reading journey (at the age of four) partly reading, partly listening with short stories. This is a great genre for starters, and of course for people who lack focus yet want to read. I continue to love short stories and the last two books I read were fantastic.

I had never been a comic girlie, although I have devoured every book of Tintin (illustrated stories genre). I never had a subscription growing up but I used to read them in the club and school library.

2. Novels: After I reached class three, my mom (a voracious reader) introduced me to novels. My first ever novel was Tom Sawyer (duh) by Mark Twain and novels remain my favourite genre till date. The details, the storyline, oh I love the classics and contemporary ones as well!

3. Detective stories: My mom gifted me an unabridged version of the four main adventures of Sherlock Holmes when I was ten. I was unable to understand the language (of course) and the font too was not friendly. It sat proudly on our bookshelf for years before I had the courage to devour it. I then discovered Nancy Drew in my school library and then there was no looking back! I read every single one in the library and started buying the new ones that came out. Then I started with Hardy Boys and it was the same too. I read every single one in the library and what my friends owned.

Then I proceeded to reading Agatha Christie and got hooked to Hercule Poirot. This genre remains my absolute favourite till date. I have devoured all the classics in this category and love the contemporary ones as well.

4. Lifestyle magazines: Can magazines be counted in the book category? Well I have always been attracted to publications like Homes and Gardens, Arch Digest etc since I was really tiny. I had been cutting the pretty pictures of homes and pasting them into files and albums, whenever I got my hands on them. That has matured into Pinterest boards ,two decades after. I love love love reading how to redecorate and organizing and cleaning. I am a pure homebody at heart and nothing makes me happier than cleaning, organizing and redecorating!

5. Non Fiction: This category is really vast and contains a plethora of subcategories from biographies and self help, educational and devotional and the list is literally endless. While I have bought many self help and self improvement books, I have also failed to go even half past them. They seem to be even more daunting than my medical books!

However this genre contains three of my absolute favourite categories to own, read and flip through: Interiors, Travel and cookbooks. I love having the coffee table version of these books. I take care of them like my babies ( read no soiled fingers) and the ones I own are przed possessions of mine. I don't have any coffee table version of cookbooks ( they are really expensive) and I would love anyone to gift them to me 😀

A genre that has never fascinated me: Romance. I had never been a Mills and Boons reader; which used to be a favourite amongst my peers. Neither I have been interested in sleazy dramas like Sidney Sheldon and all. Now that I review books which are sent to me, I might stumble across romance stories from time to time, but they never have been a favourite of mine.

What are your favourite genres to read? Are you a paperback or Kindle person? Let me know in the comments!
